I've been working on my Art work for my course and I realised this blog was a bit light on Art work. Therefore, I thought I would share the progress I've made with my Cartoon Character and background for Art so far!
It's not quite finished yet. I still need to add some snow on the mountains, some clouds and a sun. I think that'll be enough to make it look a little less plain. We have to 3D model the head of these characters in 3DS Max which could be time consuming so I have to get working on that ASAP.
So, that's where I'm up to with Art so far!
Peace out!

Continuum Pitch Document - update 5
This is the final update for the creation of the pitch document for Continuum. In the look and feel section of the document I really tried to draw from my inspirations to convey the feel of the game in the most vivid possible way to the reader. To achieve this I used pictures and did my very best to describe it.
Next came the Core mechanics section of my document and this pretty much contained the same information from my concept document but I added some pictures to help visualise some of the main mechanics.
Finally, I finished the document with the Unique Selling Points and a summary for my idea. I basically used this page to tell the reader why my game stands out from others in a similar genre or style.
Anyway, that's it! If you have any feedback at all; whether it be good, bad or ugly. Feel free to leave a comment.

Continuum Pitch Document - update 4
So, with the front cover out of the way I could finally get to work on the rest of the document. It took me a while to make it look presentable with my lack of artistic ability but I think I did an okay job. My main goal was to get the feel of the game across to the reader. I decided to add a prologue and add snippets of Myles' notebook to the bottoms of the page to give more ideas of the types of scenarios the player would find themselves in during the course of the game.
Following the criteria set in the assignment brief I then added the 'Game Overview' and 'Character Profiles'. Even though there aren't particularly any main characters other than Myles, I wrote out descriptions for characters that influence the story more than others. before anyone asks, YES, I used silhouettes to mask my inability to draw them. :P
That's all I have time for right now, I will show you the rest of the document in my final update (5) and talk all about it. Until then, Ryan out!

Continuum Pitch Document - update 3
Okay, so all I had previously was the content from my concept doc and the front cover I quickly whipped up in class but I realised I could do better. The first thing I made sure I had was a front cover that I thought was worthy of my document. With the artistic side of making the document my weakness in all this it did take a while. I spent a whole lot of time in Photoshop trying to come up with a simple but effective design.
this is the front cover I went with in the end. It's simple but it took me forever to get right. So feel free to tell me how amazing I already know it is with a comment! Just kidding, but it was the best I could come up with and surprisingly it was the part of the document that took me the longest. More to come on the Continuum pitch so check back soon. Peace out!

Continuum Pitch Document - update 2
Hey all, it's been quite a while since I last posted on here due to my part time job and getting the work done for the deadlines keeping me busy. I didn't get to update the making of the Continuum pitch like I wanted.. However, I'll post my finished document and talk a little about the problems I faced and cover the general ideas behind the document. So stay tuned! I'm back baby!
